Italy, Bari hosts conference to promote local quality food

focaccia_puglieseStrengthening the path to promotion of food products from Puglia and facilitate meetings with representatives of the distribution are some of the goals of "Gustosamente Puglia, food immersion in Puglia's food and agriculture", the event that is being held on December 11, at the Sheraton Nicolaus Hotel in Bari (Italy).

The initiative is promoted by the "Puglia in Europe" association in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, the administrations of the Puglia Region, the Bari Province, the municipality of Bari, CIHEAM's Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari and Slow Food Bari.

As part of the event there will be a conference on "Producing and Promoting Quality: Development Opportunities for Puglia's Food and Agricultural Industries" which will be attended, among others, by the President of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Parliament Paolo De Castro, the Mayor of Bari Michele Emiliano, Senator Nicola Latorre, regional councilors Dario Stefano and Fabiano Amato, director of the CIHEAM's Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari Cosimo Lacirignola, the specialist in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hepatology at the Policlinico of Bari  Ruggiero Francavilla and the gourmet and wine expert Vittorio Cavaliere.

Gustosamente Puglia is a business opportunity for Puglia's agricultural and food companies that can meet the distributors and the HORECA industry professionals and present their products in a customized showroom, and to launch new products and offer tasting of their culinary excellence.
