Italy, new organic consortium in Puglia

biologico-meridianoNetworking to disseminate and promote organic farming, respecting the tradition but with a tendency to innovation, in order to always provide quality top products and services: this is the goal of Biologico Meridiano, the new organization of organic producers recently established in Puglia (South Italy), which brings together 17 organic farmers and four major grain and oil production cooperatives in Puglia and Basilicata.

These four coops are the mill Camemi (Altamura, near Bari), Finoliva, Libera Terra Puglia and Alce Nero & Mielizia.

"This new organization - says Lucio Cavazzoni, President of Alce Nero & Mielizia - will give value to the experience and enthusiasm of these organic farmers and breeders, making stronger the collaboration between small farms, which create a networking in order to give new boost to the organic production and processing, in line with their land's tradition, quality and history".

The choice of networking reinforces individual producers, thanks to synergies that will enable a leap forward as for production technology, as well as for management, financial and promotion skills. Organic farming means respect for the environment and for everyone involved (producers, workers and consumers), but above all an economic environment inspired by the essential principles of legality.

Biologico Meridiano will start its activities producing organic wheat.
