E-mail Print PDF

carrefour_shopping_bgCarrefour is the first supermarket chain in Spain which decided to replace all plastic bags in its outlets with durable bags that can be re-used, thus aiming at reducing its impact on the environment.

The chain hopes to make its stores in Spain plastic bag-free by the end of this year, reported International Supermarket News. The aim is to replace them with "long-life" bags which can be re-used, and are thus better for the environment. The cost of the bags has not been made public yet.
