It's called Theiner's Garten BIO Vitalhotel, and it's located in Gargazzone, South Tyrol (Italy), the first European structure to get the "KlimaHotel" certification for natural and eco-friendly housing. The certification is given based on three different areas: "Nature", which takes into account, among other factors, energy efficiency and environmental impact of building materials; "Life ", which considers the quality of spaces and environment, as well as the benefits they bring to guests; and " Transparency", a criterion that considers the cost and quality of the hotel.
The idea behind the Theiner's Garten BIO Vitalhotel is not that recent, just to follow the new eco-sustainability trend, but it is the result of a long history, the tradition of a family. The land the hotel stands on has been grown according to the rules of organic farming for 25 years. Further to the meeting between and the Theiners and architect Dominik Rieder from the Baukraft study the project took shape creating a structure that gives off the scent of wood and is built and furnished with natural materials, according to the dictates of' sustainable and environmentally friendly housing.
The rooms are made of solid wood using no nails, there are pine walls, which help improve sleep, and clay walls, which regulates the temperature, wrap the rooms arranged with completely natural materials and with no redundant minibar and televisions.
