Five accredited offices in five Mediterranean Countries, a staff of international level, Euro-Mediterranean partnerships for certification, quality and food safety that takes off from Italy and includes different Mediterranean nationalities.
“After some important investment in a particular geographical area, characterized by a strong lack of homogeneity of its national legislative norms, the Mediterranean Institute of certification reaps its first fruits of a ten year effort to which all the crew has contributed”, explains Remo Ciucciomei IMC president. “In the first period we concentrated in harmonizing IMC procedures and in qualifying the local mother language personnel, then we accredited the operative structures. Today we are one of the few institutes of the European certification system for the organic agriculture, that obtained the accreditation of the operative structures outside Italy through a signatory accredited institute of Multilateral Agreement (SINCERT for Italy). IMC is also IOAS accredited and we are one of the European bodies that certifies the most elevated number of organic operators that choose IFOAM standards. The whole thing represents a value also for the Italian certification system and for Mediterranean companies that, referring to IMC, can count on a structure that offers highly specialized certification and guaranty services and accredited according to international standards”.
In these ten years of the Mediterranean project development, the IMC social structure has enriched its international partners, coming from different Mediterranean Countries, and it also has joint partnership with Italian institutes such as the “Consorzio per il biologico” in Bologna, thinking to enlarge in order to create a Euro Mediterranean network of certification.
Today the certification system can offer any requested services asked by companies that come from the agricultural, agro food, ho.re.ca. and tourism sectors, guarantying the application of evaluation and certification procedures by high skilled personnel specialized in facing specific technical and operative issues which characterize the Mediterranean area.
In this context and with the approaching date of 2010, which has particular significance for the Euro Mediterranean Partnership, IMC offices have been recently restructured and it has been renewed the company communication image. A slogan “ CERTIFICATIONS SUPPORTING VALUABLE ENTERPRISES” and a web site www.imcert.it completely renewed and accessible in three languages (Italian, English, French), are symbols of the IMC effort towards the Mediterranean quality productions in future challenges.
